Honorable Esther Somoire holds a bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Nairobi. She is a community development consultant and project manager with over 12 years of collaboration with various donor’s agencies to empower pastoralist communities.
She possesses strong skills for empowering marginalized women, youth and children through design, staffing and implementing innovative and creative programs to achieve social, economic and political development. Her specialties include but are not limited to programme development and management, collaboration with development stakeholders, policy advocacy and networking.
She has worked as a Program Coordinator at Child Fund International (CCF) Kenya for five years and later joined Dupoto Pastoralist Development Organization and worked at the same office of a Program Coordinator. It from here that she became a Founder and Executive director of Centre for Indigenous Women and Children (CIWOCH) a Nongovernmental Organization whose main goal is seeking the empowerment of indigenous women, youth and children who have always borne the brunt of exclusion in the social, economic and political development.
After working for a few years she was appointed Vice Chair and Member of the Public Service Board – Kajiado County whereby later she was recently appointed into a new position of a CECM in the Kajiado County Government.
