Residents of Kajiado County can now enjoy affordable television programs after Star Times TV launched its signal in Saina area in Kajiado town.

The Star Times TV decoder offered 110 decoders to the residents which will help the viewers to continue enjoying the program they want.

Kajiado County deputy governor H.E Paul Ntiati who flagged off, welcomed the entry of the service provider, saying it is great news for the residents as they now have choices in accessing of the digital TV.“This makes it possible for more people to access the digital signal and ensures that people have a choice to watch local and international channels. The entry of Star Times will indeed break the digital divide”.

The deputy also added that these will help to enhance communication to the people of Kajiado and Kenya at large. He also assured the government of China of full cooperation from Kajiado County. “We will cooperate with your government to see our people enjoying their life better.”

He was accompanied by CECM ICT, Gender and Social Services Hon. Richard Parsitau, Director Communication Moses Birisha among other ICT officials.

CECM Parsitau lauded the team for choosing Kajiado County as the pilot for Star Times. He also noted that the gestures will lift the standard of living of the people of Kajiado County and community at large. The Minister also said the decoder will also improve culture, spiritual social lives.  “As County government we have already partnered with Safaricom, Airtel to improve network in Kajiado and we are ready today to partner with Star Times to better  the digital television program in Our County.”
