The major areas of focus were
1. Sugar beet production for sugar processing
2. Alfalfa production – a protein ingredient for livestock feed
3. Dairy goat production specifically focussing on the saanen breed targeting the rural women
4. Value addition of agricultural products
The meeting agreed that as a way forward, a baseline survey will be planned to establish suitable areas for production of the 2 crops
