CECM ,C.O FINANCE OPENS CRA CAPACITY-BUILDING WORKSHOP TO ENHANCE OWN SOURCE REVENUE IN KAJIADO COUNTY:
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON OSR CAPACITY BUILDING AND REVENUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM COMPRESSIVE ASSESSMENT.
KAJIADO COUNTY ,10th March 2025 – The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Economic Planning, Alias Kisota ,today officially opened a Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing Own Source Revenue (OSR) for Kajiado County. The five -day workshop, running until Friday, 14th Friday 2025, is designed to equip county officials with skills on the County Revenue Management System (RMS) to strengthen revenue collection and efficiency.
The opening session featured a keynote address by Director General Revenue Ms Verah Moraa , who emphasized the county’s dedication to optimizing revenue mobilization and collection.
In her address,Ms Verah outlined the significant strides her department has taken to revamp the Revenue Unit ensuring better coverage and efficiency across the county. She assured the people of Kajiado that Own Source Revenue (OSR) has begun to improve, attributing the positive shift to streamlined revenue collection mechanisms and strengthened enforcement.
She emphasized that Governor Lenku has taken strategic steps to support revenue collection and financial management to ensure Kajiado County achieves its economic development Agenda. She also welcomed a delegation from the CRA Headquarters in Nairobi, led by Commissioner Dr. George Midiwo acknowledging their technical support in guiding Kajiado County’s revenue enhancement strategy.

The five – day workshop is expected to enhance Kajiado County’s revenue collection strategies and align them with Governor Joseph Ole Lenku’s vision of financial sustainability and economic growth.
