EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

ARE YOU AWARE THAT

There has been an Increase in the enrollment from 60% to 70% in the last FY 2018/2019 due to intensive community sensitization on the importance of education, campaigning against negative cultural practices and enforcement of The Children’s Act and mobilization of funds to improve school infrastructure

Under H.E. the Governor’s manifesto 2018/2022, the department of Education through the directorate of Vocational training sponsored 1000 trainees for vocational Training. A size-able number have since graduated and will soon receive zero rated loans as startup capital for their businesses in a partnership between the County Government of Kajiado and KCB Foundation.

AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES

The Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is one of the departments of the County Government of Kajiado and is led by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Jackline Koin.

The Department has made notable achievements in the FY 2018/2019 among them;

  • Conservation of 324,130 bales of hay and 169 tons of silage
  • Construction of 50,000 capacity hay bans
  • 1,000+ training with 16,290 farmers benefiting
  • Emergency Livestock feed with 3,477 households benefiting
  • Carried out 1,229,512 livestock vaccinations
  • Distributing 40,220 bag of subsidy fertilizer across the county
