NOL-TURESH WATER FINALLY IN USAGE
The 668 students of Oloitokitok Boys High School will be the first major beneficiary of the reclaimed giant Nol-turesh water pipeline.
Governor Joseph Ole Lenku today visited the school and announced water will be pumped to the school beginning this week.
“In three or four days, at least 15,000 litres will be pumped to the school. That is their holding capacity at the moment,” said the Governor.
Accompanied by the Nol-Turesh water company Managing Director, Jeremy Mutende, Governor Lenku said the Water connection to the school will be fixed by Thursday.
The Governor promised water to the school during a courtesy call by the school’s Board of Management led by their chairman Charles Masangira last month.
The Nolturesh water pipeline draws its water from the nearby slopes but it by passes Loitokitok residents on its way to other neighbouring counties.
Apart from the water deal, Governor Lenku announced he had set aside Ksh 21million for the construction of an extra three-storey dormitory to ease congestion in the school after one more stream was added.
“We have gotten a No- Objection note from the ministry of Education. But we want to also ask the teacher to reach the 6.5mean score. This school can perform much better, “urged the Governor.
The new water supply will also cater for more than 100 households adjacent to the school.
