The department of Gender and other stakeholders took this year’s International Day of Zero Tolerance for female genital mutilation (FGM)to Oloosuyian.
The colourful ceremony gave an opportunity for stakeholders to advocate for abandonment of the practice and celebrate achievements this far like, improved retention and improved transition in our schools.
Speaking at the ceremony the chief Officer in charge of Gender, Joshua Mepukori, call on the men to champion the fight again FGM as heads of the family unit and called on all to plant trees not cut girls.
