Celebrating Collaboration & Progress in GBV Elimination!
This morning, the Department of Gender, led by CEC Hon. Jeremiah Ole Ncharo and CO Julius Moipaai, warmly welcomed delegates from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to review the impactful achievements of Phase 1 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Elimination Project.
Together we’ve accomplished the following:
✅ Strengthened GBV Response Systems: Enhanced the capacity of GBV Rescue Centers (GBVRC) for better service delivery.
✅ Justice System Linkages: Established a GBV registry desk at law courts to streamline survivor support.
✅ Empowering Women: Conducted forums, trainings, literacy programs, and peer counseling to uplift voices.
✅ Community Unity Through Sports: Fostered teamwork and awareness via inclusive sports activities.
✅ Livelihood Boost: Supported women’s economic growth through vegetable-growing initiatives and
✅ Innovation for Safety: Reduced GBV risks with eco-friendly “Smart Jiko” stoves to empower households.
