AMENDMENT OF KAJIADO COUNTY CLIMATE CHANGE ACT 2020
Kajiado County, through the Department of Environment ,Natural Resources and Climate Change, with support from Hivos and other partners, is undertaking a review of the Kajiado County Climate Change Act 2020. This amendment aims to align the Act with emerging climate issues and the national climate policy framework. The review process will ensure that the Act addresses new developments in climate action, integrates best practices, and strengthens resilience in response to climate challenges faced by the county.
The amendment seeks to improve the effectiveness of the Act in supporting community-led climate adaptation initiatives, ensuring sustainable natural resource management, and enhancing the county’s capacity to mitigate the impacts of climate change. By updating the Act, Kajiado County aims to position itself at the forefront of climate action, fostering stronger collaboration between government, communities, and development partners.
This review process is inclusive, and we encourage the public, stakeholders, and interested parties to participate actively by providing feedback and insights that will help shape the future of Kajiado County’s climate resilience and sustainability efforts.
