Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has dispatched high profile teams of senior Government officers to engage local residents on the priority projects they wish the government to undertake.
The officers are today simultaneously holding the public participation forums across all the Sub Countirs to give their input on the Sh 9.6 Billion budget.
The turn out is massive as residents narrow down on projects that are within the wards which they want started , revived or completed.
The Governor said the Public Participation Forums On Preparation of FY 2023/24 Budget and The Medium Term were critical in addressing the County’s needs.
In Oloitoktok, residents converged at the local Social Hall while those in Kajiado West, met at the Greengos Hotel.
Those in Kajiado East met at Isinya Multipurpose Hall while those in Kajiado North converged at the Matasia Social Hall. The Masai Technical Training Institute( MTTI) hosted the Kajiado Central forum.
CECs,Chief Officers, directors and Sub County Administrators are coordinating the forums.
The forums are a requirement of the law and provide a review of the forthcoming financial year budget estimates.
They are also used to receive feedback from the public on the budget estimates with possibilities of adjustments.
