DROUGHT MITIGATION

The emergency team met with the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) to discuss on the current drought situation in the County since Kajiado is among the many counties hit by hard severe drought.

The deputy governor spearheaded the meeting as the chairman of the emergency team. Appealing to all NGOs and other stakeholders in the county to help reach to the many affected areas of the county. He also warned the business people who are taking advantage of the situation by selling hay that of less quality to the Herders. The deputy also gave orders to the ministry of livestock to do a follow up on the same issue.

He was accompanied by CECM for livestock and fisheries Moses Ole Narok, CECM health Esther Somoire, Sub County administrators and ward administrators.
