The Minister for Education and sports Jeremiah Nairowua joined kajiado men and women

athletic to make it a successful day. The event that took place in kajiado central showground

brought teams across the county together. Hon Nairowua accompanied by C.O for sport James

Sankale, County Sport Officer Mr. Maya and other county officials lauded the competition as

one of the best ever held in the county.

Speaking during the occasion the minister articulated the team behind the success and all the

participants to embrace unity as awarding them with certificates. The minister promised the

teams that the county government will fully support them to ensure they have reached their

goals. He added that as a county government they want to raise young talented in the county.

“We are ready as a county government to support our young talented youth to ensure they have

reached their goals. As a county government we are ready to raise talents.”

C.O Sankale also promised full support to the teams as he lauded their efforts and urged them to

embrace unity and compete to their best, while the county sport officer Mr. Shadrack Maya said

this is an opportunity for youths to showcase themselves because many of them lack the

exhibition platform as majority comes from the county rural areas.

“We want to give the talented youths of the most remote areas an opportunity to enjoy the games

as the county government will support them” Said Maya.

The county sports officer also noted the winner teams per the sprints were as follow, kajiado

central men won 4 by 400m, followed by kajiado west as Oloitokitok was 3 rd while Ngong and

Matasia ladies won 1st and 2 nd positions consecutively in 4 by 400m. In 100M men Philemon

Koinari made an emphatic victory in 11.8scs .Alvin Kitesho finished second in 12.4scs both

from central, Gabriel Larumoi from East won 400m men while Solomon Lekuta from Central

was contented with   position two .Rose Wakuta shined in all races and was awarded the lady of


youths take part in the recently concluded marathon in kajiado central showground, where winners were feted and isssued with certificates.
