28 H.E. Governor Joseph Ole Lenku assented to three County Acts that he said will effectively streamline service delivery and adherence to County laws within their areas of jurisdiction.
The enacted laws are expected to support the County Government structures in ensuring that the works at the grassroots are well coordinated and that supervision of government projects are efficiently managed.
“I want to assure residents of Kajiado of a more vibrant inspectorate since it will equip our officers with legal backing to operate within the law,” said the Governor.
H.E the Governor intimated that for a long time his government has been keen on strengthening operations within the County inspectorate Department in matters to do with inspection, arrest and prosecution of those infringing on County laws.
He added that once in force the Inspectorate Service Act, 2018 will ensure enforcement officers apply the laws in conjunction with other security agents like the police.
“I look forward to a more orderly society with the coming into force of these Acts. I want to warn the residents that those who will not comply with face the full force of the law,” said Lenku.
Speaking at the occasion, Kajiado County Assembly Majority Leader Hon.Julius Moipaai said The County Assembly will work closely with the Executive to pass Legislation that will enhance service delivery and economic development in the County.
“The performance of the County assembly is measured against the number of legislations passed and as such the Executive should speed up formulation of legislative proposals for processing at the Assembly,” said Moipaai.
He assured the governor of continued support from the County Assembly in ensuring that once forwarded for consideration; the Bills will be accorded due process at the Assembly for the overall benefit of the people of Kajiado.
