County First lady Edna Lenku today led a delegation of officials from the office of our country’s first lady Mama Margaret Kenyatta to a beyond zero campaign among them CEO Ahadi Kenya Dr. Stanley Kamau, Health CEC Mrs Somoire, Mrs Senetor Rarine Mpaayei, area MCA Hon Joseph Masiaya, MCA Mosiro Ward Hon Tirishe, two nominated MCAs, Mrs Essie Saoyo, DOs and Chiefs among others in Magadi Ward Oldoinyio-Nyokie Dispensary.
In her inspection of the dispensary she was briefed by nurse’s in charge of the unit that a community of more than 10 village clusters with a population of about 3,300 people per unmentioned NGO census depend on Oldoinyio-Nyokie dispensary for medical treatment and delivery.
Mrs. Lenku was also brought to speed on matters of challenges that the dispensary faces while working hard to deliver its services to the people among them defaults on medical plans, skipping immunization, distance between villages and the dispensary, acute water shortage, inadequate mosquito nets, beds and medical support equipment, shortage of medical personnel and drugs, electricity among many more other challenges.
Problems like water shortage and electricity are shared among the nearby schools. Also addressed are challenges of a nearby girl’s secondary school that has so far a record number of 400 girls yet the school are not registered.
The first lady together with her network of donors donated a mobile clinic to Oldonyio-Onyokie dispensary to help patients who can’t get to hospital due to transportation challenges, relief Food for hundreds of people who turned up for the event. Eight Rotto tanks each of 10,000litre for 8 primary schools already delivered as donation through Lotto Kenya, she also donated electricity through Dr. Stanley Kamau that supposed to be fixed by end of next week, she also donated mosquito nets to be distributed to needy homes. Through our first lady Edna Lenku, Ahadi Kenya has donated shoes to all the pupils of Oldonyionyokie primary school to be delivered by January next year.
In his address Dr. Stanley Kamau pledged that upon re election of President Uhuru, together with the President they will donate all beds required by Oldonyionyokie dispensary, more shoes to all primary school children in Kajiado County and more mobile clinic to every dispensary in all wards of Kajiado County.
The CECM of Health sent a message to the country first lady Her Excellency Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta to help get an ultrasound machine to our Kajiado Level five hospital as a matter of urgency.
