APHIAplus DONATES MEDICAL APPLIANCES WORTH Ksh 890,360 TO KAJIADO COUNTY

Kajiado county health department received donation of health supplies worth Ksh890, 360. The function was presided by health minister Mrs. Gladys Marima and programme development manager Mr. Kennedy Odero of APHIAplus organization.

APHIAplus in conjunction with USAID organization normally helps in boosting health sector in several counties in the country Kajiado, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok and Laikipia.

According to Mr. Odero the organization has made huge strides since it was established five years ago. The organization has been engaging itself with various health providers to boost service delivery in many hospitals. “We have been able to boost number of staffs in various hospitals whereby there have been shortageof nurses and clinical officers.” Also he noted that they have helped in distribution of medical tools.

The donation which include of seats, cabinets and other medical appliances are meant to boost service delivery scales in several hospitals. For instance, Namanga hospital will receive a Digital BP machine, Digital thermometer and Stethoscope. Also Kimana and Ongata HC will receive a Paed Height Meter each as well as other hospitals in the county which will receive different medical tools.

Mrs. Marima lauded APHIAplus for their efforts of providing medical assistance and urged them to continue with the same spirit to better the health sector in the county. “We as the county government appreciate all efforts that you have put in place to ensure that patients do not have to travel to Nairobi for screening and for medical assistance.”
