COUNTY INTERGRATED DEVELPOMENT PLAN 2023-2027 OFFICIAL LAUNCH

In our continued effort to focus on transformative development agenda in my second term of my administration, we have today unveiled the third generation County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027.

We have espoused it together with the county leadership, our development partners, government institutions and wananchi.

The CIDP will guide the county executive in the formation of its annual development plans, spatial plans, fiscal paper, budgets and laws meant to facilitate the realisation of the county objectives of transforming Kajiado in a sustainable way.

This plan is aligned to the national development framework – the Kenya Vision 2030 and its 4th Medium-Term Plan, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The plan is further aligned to the international commitments and obligations such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement on climate change and the Sendai Framework.

The Ksh. 133.6 billion five-year development plan anchors our focus into actionable strategies which have incorporated the county vision themed “A sustainable and Transformed Kajiado”.

The development plan sets the priorities and ensures cross-sectoral consistency with the agreed priorities, approaches and resource allocation criteria.

Our CIDP as crafted comprised very realistic and achievable goals which will be realized with collective leadership and support of all leaders.

I thank our partners and the public at large for their invaluable input during consultations, compilation and production of this Plan.

IMPROVING SERVICE DELIVERY IN THE HEALTH SECTOR

Each day, my administration thinks about our people’s health, an active going concern for me.

Towards improving service delivery in this crucial sector, I have today overseen the ground breaking of a 112- bed Male Ward at the County Referral Hospital in Kajiado town, Ildamat Ward.

This will increase our capacity of male inpatients by more than 300 per cent.

Still in the afternoon, I commissioned the construction of a new health centre at Saina Estate in Dalalekutuk Ward.

This health facility will reduce the pressure of outpatients at the Referral Hospital by treating the common illnesses.

I want to assure the residents of Kajiado that we shall not drop the ball when it comes to bringing health services closer to the people.
