MEDIUM TERM PLAN (MTP) FORUM HELD IN KAJIADO
The state department for planning and statistics, Ministry of devolution and planning held a third medium term plan (MTP) forum yesterday at MTTI grounds Kajiado. The third MTP is set to succeed the second MTP 2013 – 2017 whose implementation is coming to an end this year. This forum aimed to provide an opportunity for county stakeholders to identify and prioritize development programs for incorporation in the Third MTP. Permanent Secretary for defense Hon. Saitoti Torome, County Secretary Dr.Kerei , KIPPRA’s Dr. Rose Ngugi and Economist Samuel Kimote among other representatives were present. PS. Saitoti Torome said that the national government has done its best to bring the country this far and with this MTP, it plans to bring more development to counties and improve living standards of the people of Kenya. County Secretary Dr. Kerei said that the people of Kajiado have benefited from the previous plan especially in terms of education and he added that there are more students going to schools now and that the Early childhood development education which was previously not rampant in this county but is now gaining root and is a big step for the county. The MTP forum was held in all the 47 counties across the country.
