Kajiado west residents praised the county government for the milestone they have achieved since they reigned into power in developing the county. Speaking at Corner Baridi, Kajiado west constituency during the housewarming party of nominated MCA Hon Rhoda Moonka. Ole Nawoiki said Kajiado County residents are impressed by Nkedienye performance since his reign in power and urged people to give him another term to complete his job.

Nalotuesha one of the residents articulated Nkedienye succession and asked Tarayia Ole Kores, who was seated to table his gubernatorial ambition and allow Nkedienye to finish the good work he initiated at the county. She praised Dr Nkedienye for his development track record and empowering the rural poor Maasai women…

Kajiado west politician aspirant Joseph Ole Simel praised Governor Nkedienye as the best candidate for Kajiado County. Urging the crowd to re-elect him and give him a chance to better the standard of the county.

The Jubilee crew led by Tarayia Ole Kores, Hon Moses Ole Sakuda and Keekonyokie ward and Deputy speaker George Sunkuyia however insisted that Dr Nkedienye and his administration have not performed much for the last 3 years and swore to teach him a political lesson during the 2017 elections.

Governor of Kajiado County Dr David Nkedienye defended himself and his administration saying that county has made extraordinary steps over the last three years. Outlining the employment of ECDE teachers and doctors, construction of ECDE Classes, modern markets, boreholes, modern hospitals, polytechnics, and bus parks as some of the achievements the county has achieved.

The County Chief further noted that parties’ issues should not be prioritised.  “Let’s concentrated with the issue in our county and avoid party differences since they will only bring division among us.” Governor said

Nkedienye added that while the jubilee’s message continues to be music to the ears of residents, his message becomes touches soul.

RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY HUMAN -WILDLIFE CONFLICT TO GET COMPENSATION

The new Director for Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Daniel Omsembe has assured Kajiado residents affected by perennial human -wildlife conflict that they will get compensation.

Speaking after a courtesy call by the office of the governor, Mr. Omsembe who took over from Julius Cheptei, promises compensation  for the affected residents.“We will ensure that all residents affected by wildlife will be compensated. We have the names brought by the county committee on wildlife and we have forwarded them to Nairobi so that the affected will be compensated soon. We are working hard to ensure that human – wildlife conflict is reduced”. He also added that residents should also inform KWS of any animal’s intrusion in their areas.

Kajiado Governor Dr. David Nkedianye said county government will work with KWS to solve animals –human conflicts.

“We want to work together with national government to ensure our people get the right compensation at the right time. Now that there is drought we want KWS to be fair with our people.” Said Nkedienye

There has been a lot of human and animal conflict especially in Amboseli and many residents will now hope for a solution to be agreed on.

Kajiado governor Dr. David Nkedienye has argued all leaders to unite and fight for the people of Kajiado County. Speaking during the burial of the late Chief John Olngereo ole Nchoki who was born in 1930 at Kipeto Kajiado West Sub County,   Dr. Nkedienye said leaders should unite the people and avoid parties’ differences.

“We as leaders should unite our people. We should not shy off from telling them the truth. Let’s tell our people the value of our great land.” Governor said

He said parties are only conveyor straps to leadership positions but the people have the power to judge who they want to lead them.

His compassion was understood by many to mean that the voters risk voting in the “wrong people” to the position of leadership if they only look at the party in which they are linked to without considering their individual capacity to lead.

The governor asked the voters in the region to elect leaders who can foster unity, as opposed to those advancing divisive politics.

The Chief boss lauded devolution saying it has favored the counties especially the Maasai community. Nkedienye did not hesitate to warn lands grabbers that their days are numbered. Urging leaders to come together and hold hands to bring back the land that were grabbed long ago. “We must join hands as leaders and not politicize the issue of lands in order to restore back our land”. Outlining a number of lands grabbed Mosiro, Ololaiser and Oloirien among others.

Nkedienye urged the crowd to work hard and follow the steps of the late John who led by a good example by maintaining his integrity in leadership.

The event was attended by local leaders include Senator Mosite, Area MP Moses Sakuda, among others.

Speaking during the forum Nominated MCA Hon.Samson Tipape in charge of people living with disability

Kajiado County Referral Hospital held social accountability forum at the facility grounds together with the county residents to see their second card score. It was an opportunity for the residents of Kajiado to air out their sentiments towards health sector on the way they have been handling them.

During the event the residents aired out their complaints and compliments in equal proportion. A majority of speakers from the public acknowledged the improvement of services delivered in the hospital. However, some complaints were raised concerning poor attitude by the staff and language barrier especially by the indigenous members of Maa community.

Leading the forum, Nominated MCA Hon. Samson Tipape in charge of people living with disability assured residents that the county government inconjuction with the county assembly are working hard to improve the health sector, this can be testified by the highest percentage of t budget allocation to the ministry of health to obviate problems that have clouded several counties in the country.

“The ministry of health got the highest percentage of the budget allocation. It is because we want our hospitals to have enough drugs for all patients.” Said Tipape

Tipape the Champion of Polio in Kajiado County also voiced the residents to take immunization against polio.

Dr Rebecca Kilimo who was representing Dr Moses Ngugi medical Superintendent said that negotiations are ongoing to have NHIF personnel at the facility who will be addressing such cases in future. She further told the residents to acquire the NHIF cards since it will help them to reduce the cost of treatment.

Dr Ezekiel Kapkoni the county Health Director told the public that a new maternity wing is under construction and upon its completion it will reduce the congestion being experienced in maternity wards.

The health officials used the platform to share the facility success story and affirmed their commitment to provide the highest level of attainable healthcare that is evidence based, technology driven and client centered.

Other officials present in the meeting are sub county administrators Charity Saruni and Lose Matikoi.

Kajiado county governor Dr.David Nkedienye spearhead a meeting held at cultural within Kajiado together with safaricom officials and the ministry of ICT in upgrading network accessibility in Kajiado County. Briefing the press Nkedienye said the partners have already upgraded the system in Kajiado County from 2G to 3G.

The partners in the other hand promise that they are going to make sure that they have reliable network not only around Kajiado but in other places in this county.

The Governor also promised that they are going to save lives, increase business for people and create job with the improved network connectivity. Assuring that after every 3 months a major meeting will take place to look into the progress and what still is needed to be done.

Safaricom partners assured the county officials that they will have reliable network in the entire county. Speaking to press, Stephen Okeyo the regional sales and operation director promised to make the county more secure in terms of network connectivity, reliable network and high quality network all over the county. Regardless of the  poor network coverage in the county, Okeyo said they are going to improve the coverage by 10% this year. This will help stimulate development in the County.

The partners also promised to partner with the county to be more efficient in revenue collection and also help people life’s like availing of clear water.

CECM ICT, Gender and social services Hon.Parsitau was present in the meeting and other county officials.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY HELD IN KAJIADO

Deputy Governor sings alongside youths in Kajiado to mark the International Youth Day under the theme dubbed “Eradicating poverty and attaining sustainability”

Kajiado County Youth Alliance (KCYA) in conjunction with the county Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture held an International Youth Day dubbed “Join the change lead the change” that aimed at bringing awareness on youth empowerment, unity, peace and participation in leadership.

The theme of the event that took place at the ministry headquarter in Kajiado town was “Eradicating poverty and attaining sustainability”. All the five sub counties were represented.

The youth through their leaders took advantage of the opportunity to air their grievances which range from unemployment, lack of youth mentorship programs, lack of representation in decision and policy making, insecurity in major towns and lack of involvement in bursary disbursement.

Speaking during the event, Kajiado deputy Governor Paul Hon. Ntiati said the job opportunities available in the county are not enough to absorb all the youth and he urged them to think of creating jobs even as they try their luck in county job opportunities. “You must think of creating jobs even as they try their luck in the county job opportunies.” Ntiati said

Ntiati said the county government is coming up with a community policy aimed at beefing up security in the county and the youth will be involved.

The county officials emphasized on the need for the youth to work on capacity building and skills acquisition noting that the level of skills in the county is wanting, a matter that has forced the public service to import skills from other counties.

The Chief Officer in charge of education James Sankale however expressed optimism that with concerted efforts from all stakeholders in the education sector, Kajiado can be a power house of skills.

Jeremiah Malano KCYA chairman said the youth should realize the immediate need to change the narrative of divisive politics being advanced by I’ll intended individuals in pursuit of personal interest.

Other county officials who attended the event are County ministers Jeremiah Nairowua (education), Ali Letura (lands), Florence Mutua (industrialization), host MCA Joseph Mutunkei among others.

The governor of Kajiado County D.r David Nkedienye has Sort out land dispute between Maika Family and Enkaroni group ranch who have been having conflicts for 20years now. Nkedienye was accompanied with the Cs for Land Hon. Ali Letura, County Commissioner Harsama Kello, Area MCA Ole Kipaika and other government officials.

Speaking in the meeting Nkedienye warned the surveyors who are unprofessional saying they are misleading the public in giving false information, drawing erroneous maps. Resolving the meeting again on the 5thSeptember will bring both parties together to look for a permanent solution for the boundary. He said the issue must be solved once and should not arise in the near future “My government is warning all surveyors to make sure every time they work; they do it to the best of their professionalism. They should also know that their days are numbered in this county. We are having many problems regarding land matters across the county.”

County Commissioner Harsama Kello called for unity from all stakeholders to bring the conflict to an end. Urging the parties to cooperate to avoid any conflicts since they are brothers and sisters.

The Cs for Lands Ali Letura urged both parties to maintain peace since it is the most paramount in Kajiado County. Calling for cooperation as he assured them that the storm will end soon. “There is a lot of tension between the two parties but we don’t want that because Kajiado is a peaceful county.” Said Ali

Maika family urged the government to give them time as they look for another surveyor since they lost trust with the previous one.

All parties were required to respect the verdict because it was the only solution and continue living as brothers and sisters.

SQUARTERS IN THEIR OWN LAND

Stephen Ntutu, Kajiado deputy governor Hon.Paul Ntiati, Area M.P Sakuda,
Kajiado county lands management board chairman Hamilton Parseina and other government officials assembled yesterday at Kajiado west sub-county, Mosiro ward to
look for a permanent solution to Mosiro Residents whose Land has been
grabbed for over 30 years.
Speaking in the meeting Swazuri said he will have a meeting on August 3,
2016 with the relevant authority following the names of the people
holding title deeds will be gazette. Assuring the residents that after the
investigation the land grabbing was found to be qualified as historical
injustices. He added that August 30, 2016 all allegations will be listened and
decision made. Swazuri promised the next step will be nullify of title deeds
and surveyors will take over. According to swazuri planning has already be
done and maps are ready. He added that those who own the title will also be given a
chance to present their case in Mosiro and tell how they acquired the
titles deeds.

Deputy Governor Hon.Paul Ntiati warned the leaders present in the meeting
that they must not take the issue lightly since the residents have been in
pain for long. Applauding to the unity of the national and county government
in joining hands to look for a permanent solution towards the problem that has
been a thorn to the residents of mosiro over the years.
Mositet urged the locals to value peace and give the relevant authority
chance to help them solve the problem. Assuring them that he have
confident with the jubilee government that the long time problem will come to

an end soon.
Area M.P Moses Sakuda said “We have not come here because of
2017 politics but because we want to save our land from grabbers and see
the people Mosiro living in peace.” He added that investigation shows that
subdivision of titles deed was done in Nkoile Kajiado Central in the
absence of the Mosiro owners.

Hamilton the county land management board commission chairman in Kajiado County urged parents to educate their children to avoid such problems in future.
The local residents are seeking cancellation of the entire title deeds
issue to 1040 exercise and injunctive reliefs against the culprits. They
are seeking disbanding all land title deeds stemming from the subdivision
of the lands.
